CHANGES AND AMENDMENTS TO CONTRACTS
Sometimes it is necessary to change a contract for various reasons. Both parties must accept changes. If, for example, a client wants to offer weaker terms, the service provider can accept the changes as they are, make a counteroffer or reject the suggested changes. If you accept them, the terms become part of the contract and bind both parties. If the customer accepts the counteroffer, it becomes part of the contract. If the customer rejects the counteroffer, the service provider can either accept the original proposal or reject it, which usually leads to the termination of the contract. You should always check with the client: what happens if I do not accept the new terms offered?
When it comes to changes, you should be alert and negotiate the terms. Why do they want to change the terms, what purpose does it serve, what happens if I don’t accept the suggested terms, can I make my own counterproposal?
