Networking often starts early, with the people you meet as a student. It is one of the most important tasks a translator has, especially if you\u2019re just starting out. Networking is a constant process \u2013 you never know where you might meet a prospective client. Keep in mind that as an entrepreneur, you represent your business wherever you go. You should think over the situations where you would like to present a professional image or where you would like to simply be yourself. Keep the two separate, if necessary. When appropriate, seize the moment to talk about what you do for a living and ask if anyone might have a need for your services. Practice your elevator pitch for these occasions and don\u2019t be shy handing out your business cards. Network, network, network!<\/p>\n
